If there is any certain equation when raising chickens, its that they multiply quicker than anyone can realize.  One day you have 8 chickens, and everyone is fine and dandy, until the feed store has a sale on chicks.  Now you suddenly find yourself with 49 chickens and still only get 3 eggs a day..... That's Chicken Math!!
