French grenadiers are still attacking as the French Dillon Regiment is moving up through the ditch. It is hard to determine exactly the timelines as it was total chaos and accounts vary. Ultimately, it was a slaughter for the attackers despite their incredible bravery and the siege failed. It was the second bloodiest battle after Bunker Hill.
